OSLO, Norway (AP) ? Anders Behring Breivik's lawyers say the far-right gunman has stuck to his decision not to appeal a terror conviction and prison sentence for bomb and shooting attacks that killed 77 people.
That means the legal process for Norway's worst peacetime massacre is formally over.
At his sentencing two weeks ago, Breivik said he wouldn't challenge the ruling and his lawyer Geir Lippestad told reporters he had not changed his mind Friday, the deadline for an appeal.
The 33-year-old Norwegian now starts serving his 21-year prison term, which can be extended for as long as the self-described "militant nationalist" is considered a danger to society.
Breivik shocked Norway on July 22, 2011, when he set off a bomb in Oslo and then opened fire at the Labor Party's youth camp.
