To help continue the growth of artisan, farmstead and specialty cheese in Wisconsin, the Dairy Business Innovation Center is offering five $1,000 scholarships to help beginning cheesemakers earn their Wisconsin Cheesemaker?s License. Applications are due June 15.
Applicants must be residents of the State of Wisconsin, and must demonstrate the ambition needed to obtain a Wisconsin Cheesemaker License, a lengthy process requiring attendance at five cheesemaking courses, 240 hours of apprenticeship with an existing licensed Wisconsin cheesemaker, and passing a written test.
